About Me
With over twenty years of experience in the education field, I have had the opportunity to develop a great deal of expertise in adolescent development, special education, middle and upper grades math and language instruction, classroom management, and Montessori program development. I am passionate about providing quality instruction to adolescents, recognizing their need to be guided as whole people and not simply in their academic needs. I believe in developing students’ self-awareness and regulation for their future success and independence.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Teaching Students with Learning Disabilities from Furman University. I have a Master’s degree in Teaching Students with Mental Disabilities and with Emotional Disabilities from Converse College. I have earned thirty coursework hours beyond my Master’s degree in a wide variety of subjects from math instruction and gifted/talented instruction to technology proficiency. I earned my Doctoral degree in Education Leadership from North Greenville University. I have taught in both private and public, middle and high schools in South Carolina throughout my career.
